Jnane Tamsna
Jnane hotels and villas offer a lifestyle of serenity and well-being in the Palmeraie and countryside around Marrakech. The Jnane setting is a collection of individual houses spread out in a garden. This gives guests an atmosphere of being at home while providing the comfort and services of a hotel. Jnane interiors, overseen by the creative eye of Meryanne Loum-Martin, is a creation spanning two decades of Oriental, African and European tastes. Often referred to as 'New Moroccan Style', this involves the use of natural materials, traditional techniques and dark and light textures to create a sense of harmony.
Due to a slow and organic cultivation, infused with the memories of past guests, Jnane feels as if it has always been there. One can sense a style honed from the multitude of influences converging in Morocco. Nestled amidst a fragrant grove of fruit trees it is hypnotic to the senses with the aromas of Gardenia, Jasmine and Bougainville.
True well-being is found in a life of authenticity and tranquility. Jnane is conceived from the soul of the local culture and raised with a sophisticated touch. It respects the natural materials, traditions, local communities and the environment. This sanctuary is a harmonious blend of Arabic, Asiatic and African tastes.
The wide range of facilities and services as well as wonderful landscaped gardens, and private chill-out corners make this ideal for indulgence and yoga. Here one is treated to the rare fruits of the desert.
Perumal Koshy
Perumal Koshy an Indian born yoga teacher has been instructing for 2 decades across America, Europe, North Africa and India. At 12 years of age he began his teaching career when he assisted a Kung Fu Master while living in Los Angeles. This was an experience of 5 days a week for 3 years and it is the foundation to his method of instructing. After 10 years of practicing and
competing in Martial Arts Perumal was guided into yoga by a yoga master.
From here began Perumal’s journey of inner discovery through this ancient
discipline. A journey that has taken him through South East Asia, Europe,
North America and North Africa whereby Perumal has been able to capture the essence and benefits of the world’s many yoga styles and forms. His path lead him develop Dynamic Progressive Fusion Yoga and his experiences lead him to realize that internalizing multiple expressions of yoga sheds light on the connection points between them. Identifying such connection points collapses the boundaries housing the myriad of yoga expressions along with systems such as Martial Arts which are considered outside of yoga. Through
internalization and repetitive practice the assorted yoga methods and systems
become one.

Perumal’s yoga classes, adjusted to the physical abilities of the individual.
Classes are structured and taught in a rhythmical manner focusing on
stretching, strengthening, balancing, and deep breathing. The practice is built
on a 6 parts underlying foundation to feel refreshed, relaxed and
simultaneously energized. The lessons, thanks to a progressive approach, will
allow the guest to achieve the right state of flow in order to improve mobility,
breathing and circulation while strengthening muscles, tendons and igaments.
The lessons are thorough with theoretical arguments and easy to omprehend
guidelines for spirituality and healthy living thus opening a portal to the hidden aspects of yoga. Perumal explains the linkages and interactions between the mental, physical, philosophical and spiritual aspects of yoga with
highlights from his own experience which will make yoga tangible for leading to genuine mental and physical wellbeing. The student will learn about how to settle into a yoga practice, open & clear the breath, warm up the core, unite breath and movement, prepare the fibers for deeper stretching, relieve muscle tension, free spinal tension, accomplish and enable concentration, find one’s own yoga path.
Those participating in his classes walk away with immediate results of calm
and clarity with heightened energy what Perumal describes as two opposite
poles working simultaneously.
Furthermore Perumal lectures also on joint safety, detoxify sinuses and move
synovial fluid, aligning skeletal system, relieving constipation, detoxifying the
body, accomplishing and enabling meditation, chakra related postures, how
pain can be caused and avoided in yoga, traditional student teacher
perspectives versus the modern ways, spirituality and how to find and follow
ones own spiritual path.
In an attempt to describe Yoga with Perumal's expression of yoga the words
dynamic, progressive, and fusion are used. Yoga with Perumal is Dynamic
Progressive Fusion Yoga. It is not the name but the abstract which it is
conveying that should be focused on.
Dynamic implies an active changing style that is vigorous and purposeful. It
means to be full of energy and enthusiasm while undergoing change /
development.
Progressive implies an informal, unrigged method of development. It is a
gradual method of development which builds off itself in layers. There is an
underlying fixed foundation, which the practices are built on. The practice
above the fixed foundation experiences gradual change. Progressive also
implies a gradual increase in intensity. Yoga with Perumal starts off light and
increases gradually in intensity until an intensity threshold is achieved. Once
the intensity threshold is achieved it is then immediately released or
maintained.
Fusion is the merging or blending of two or more things in the physical and
non-physical realms. Yoga with Perumal is the blend of various yoga styles,
systems and ideas. It is the conjunction point of these that are searched out,
noted and expressed in a synergistic way.
